Attribo & CSCI supporting Free WiFi for the Holidays

The holidays are upon us. It’s that time of year when many of us will be passing through busy airports on business and on our way to visit family and friends. This year, however, more than 100 million travelers will notice something different as they make their way through one of 47 airports around the country.

Yesterday, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative was selected as one of three non-profits taking part in the Free Holiday Wi-Fi program that will run through January 15, 2010. This program, created by Google, is providing holiday travelers with the gift of free Wi-Fi at select airports around the U.S.

The selection of Climate Savers Computing to be part of this program is a tremendous visibility opportunity for our organization. In addition to helping raise awareness about our mission and goals, hundreds of thousands of travelers will be given the chance to “pay it forward” by donating to our cause and helping spread the message about power management. Travelers can pass on the spirit of the season by making a donation to the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, which Google will match up to $250,000.

By making a donation and pledging their support, travelers will be joining our efforts to build a clean, sustainable economy through energy-efficient computing. The funds raised during this donation drive will help us develop and implement programs such as our upcoming Power Down for the Planet 2010, which will provide students with tools for reducing energy consumption at their college or university while helping educate the next generation of green IT leaders.
